Hikes in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park

On a perimeter of 260,000 hectares, all in relief, the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park extends over a privileged territory, straddling two departments: Tarn and Herault. From the Montagne Noire west of Mazamet, to Bédarieux north of Béziers.

A rich and preserved nature, breathtaking landscapes, committed women and men, whose key word is respect and love for the environment; a land of exception quite naturally.

A change of scenery thanks to the variety of landscapes, climates and reliefs. You will discover a great diversity in the landscapes, you go from a real mountain scenery, to the dense forests of the Montagne Noire, to the moors and peat bogs of the Monts de Lacaune, to the plateau of the lakes until the vineyards. And so many villages of character where the Occitan language is a strong cultural identity!

Nature activities in the Pyrenees

There's nothing like nature activities to recharge your batteries and get together with your family. The relief is breathtaking for beautiful walks. The Haut Languedoc mountain is crossed by the GR 7,GR 77 and GR 653 (the road to Santiago de Compostela). But also cultural leisure will be offered in the villages and towns, during the summer: concerts, festivals and celebrations. Check out the programs on the High Languedoc Regional Park website.

The fishermen will be able to devote themselves to their passion, whether it is angling, sport fishing or dilettante. You can swim in the lake of Laouzas and the lake of Raviège, or sit on the terrace of the restaurants and bars installed in the surroundings. And if you are lucky, you will be able to see the animals that inhabit the Haut-Languedoc natural park among the 420 species.

Sports activities in the natural park

An ideal adventure ground for nature and thrill-seekers, the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park lends itself to all kinds of sporting activities.

Go on an adventure, as close to nature as possible, on foot, on horseback, on a donkey, and discover the many hiking or mountain biking trails using hundreds of kilometers of tracks, including the famous "Passa Païs" greenway.

Get some height by climbing, climbing trees. Follow the green line of the via ferrata on the site of Malamort in the municipality of Durfort; two courses are offered to you in autonomy and free access.

Go along the water, practicing canoing, kayaking, sailing, canyoning, pedal boats.

Travel to the heart of the underground world and take your first steps underground with speleology.
