A must-see stop for botany enthusiasts, the Martels Garden is a peaceful haven for reverie. The perfect place to spend the day with the kids near your campingite in the Tarn.

Born from the passion of a whole family and the result of many years of hard work, the Jardin des Martels in Giroussens, between Toulouse and Albi, is an island of greenery.

You can get there by the Tarn tourist railroad. A historic monument listed steam locomotive shuttles visitors between the village and the garden.
The Martels garden welcomes you from April to October. It is the second most visited place in the Tarn, after the cathedral of Albi.

In a green, summer-shaded English-style floral park of 35,000m², on either side of wide walkways, you can admire flowerbeds arranged like compositions of master paintings and enjoy the scent of climbing roses, while a large variety of exotic plants harmoniously responds to local species.

A true oasis, the Jardin des Martels includes six bodies of water, all of which feature lotuses, but also water lilies, perennials from five continents, water as if a river were flowing through the landscape, not to mention the animals of the mini-farm.

Come and discover the exotic and aquatic greenhouse, the Mediterranean garden, the garden center, the belvedere on terraced gardens, the Temple of Bali, the bamboo labyrinth, the water lilies and lotus collection, the rose garden, the fish and turtle ponds.

The little ones will surely appreciate the mini-farm that will close this visit with the presentation of 150 species of animals (fallow deer, cows, donkeys, chickens, goats and many more). Not to be missed for a stopover out of time.
